Leadership

Pumpsense has been promoted by Himadri ( himadri.sen@worldofpumps.com ) and Nandita Sen with the support of their associates in the pump community. Pumpsense is based on the learning and experience accrued from establishing and running a successful pump manufacturing company, Allied Centrifugal Pumps Pvt Ltd, (ACP), since 1995. This company successfully developed split-case, end-suction and inline pumps for industrial, building services and marine applications. In addition, it offered design and development services to international pump companies for listed fire pumps, both split-case and inline, and a range of large end-suction pumps for the European market. The company merged with WILO SE of Germany in 2005. In 2008, the company produced nearly a 1000 split-case and end-suction pumps and achieved a turnover of US$ 6.0 million with an outstanding bottom line. Himadri and Nandita Sen handed over the management of ACP to Mather+Platt (A WILO Group Company) in May 2009 in order to start PUMPSENSE, a company dedicated to creating innovative products & services for centrifugal pump users and manufacturers.

CEO Speaks

I established my own pump manufacturing company in 1995 with no funding but a lot of starry-eyed convictions after plunging myself into the world of pumps for 21 years. I was under the influence of magicians like Theodore Levitt, Peter Drucker, and Charles Handy during those days. Our modest business, Allied Centrifugal Pumps Pvt Ltd (yes, it’s a long name), grew slowly but steadily, and we began to attract customers from all over the world. It was a lot of fun to swiftly develop new pumps, and it offered us a competitive edge in the market. More crucially, we built a tiny community of devoted clients who treated us as if we were their own factory, as well as devoted suppliers who grew in their knowledge and expertise. Pumpsense is another dream, another journey. We strive to provide cutting-edge goods and services for centrifugal pump users and manufacturers. The service basket for pump customers will include specification building and assistance in selecting the appropriate pump, training and workshops on various aspects of centrifugal pumps, and assistance in maximizing the performance of existing pumps through retrofit and upgrade services.

We appreciate pump selection, thus we’d like to provide backroom sales and support to pump users. We will also offer a service called “Nuvane” to pump manufacturers, which will focus on new impeller design and development for existing pumps. Finally, we feel that we will be able to share our knowledge with the vendors of centrifugal pumps and help them achieve greater customer satisfaction. Our “Pump School” provides this service. The values and principles that guided the creation and growth of this company will not change. We want to create the best experience for both customers and associates. We chose the service basket to reflect our competencies while also representing areas where we can learn a lot and improve.
